I traveled to the Boston Flower and Garden Show in search of spring. This year, Boston has experienced record-breaking amounts of snow along with what has felt like the longest winter. As soon as I walked into the Seaport World Trade Center, the beautiful landscape displays and smell of rich soil awakened my inner gardener. Everything was in full bloom, you could feel the excitement. I had found spring!
Moon Gate
As soon as you walk in, you can’t help but be in total awe of this dry stone moon gate. The expert craftsmanship is truly inspiring. If there had been a way I could have purchased this and carried it home, I would have. Such a gorgeous way to enter the show. Maine Stonework located in Kennebunkport built this amazing passageway.
Plant Something
I visited the Plant Something booth where everyone was able to plant a mystery seed. I think this is such a brilliant, hands on way to get people of all ages involved. They handed out a card that provided a link so you can identify your seed. The seed I received is a Heavenly Blue Morning Glory. I am a huge fan of Morning Glories and plant the vines in my garden every season. I let the vines climb and cover my vegetable garden gate. I will definitely be joining along and planting it on May 15! If you live in Massachusetts, I encourage you to mark your calendar and do the same!

Seasonal Shopping
After walking around and seeing all of the beautiful garden and landscape exhibits, I was excited to go check out all of the booths. Filled with seeds, rain barrels, bee hives, baskets, bulbs and so many plants to choose from.
I was so excited to find a copy of Pith + Vigor at the show! It is a gardening newspaper filled with information on anything and everything you want to know about flowers, veggies and so much more. I highly recommend checking out this visually stunning and informative publication.
Some of the seeds I purchased at the show. So happy to find so many different varieties of morning glories!
I'd say overall that the first garden show I attended was a success. I really enjoyed all of the beautiful landscape designs, the educational booths and being surrounded by all of the stunning flowers. It is a wonderful way to kick off spring and I am definitely looking forward to going back next year!

October 10, 2015 at 11:00 amOh my goodness Angie, your photos at the flower show are absolutely fantastic. I have traveled to Philadelphia a couple of times for theirs and I would love to put this one on my bucket list. It looks amazing! That moon stonework is a work of art and I like the idea of planting a seed. Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful event with Today’s Flowers. I wish you a very happy weekend 🙂

August 26, 2015 at 2:51 pmWow that’s a lot of gorgeousness. – I would love visiting this garden place. – Oh to let you know the Moonflowers you mentioned on my blog were grown in someone else’s garden, not my own. It was the first time I’d ever seen them. I happened upon them driving home one night. – Thanks for joining my blog, I’m following you back.

March 26, 2015 at 11:09 pmThank you for sharing this beautiful walk through the garden show. Colorado doesn’t have such a thing. Our Home and Garden Show is far more home than garden. After a while I grew tired of seeing booths for roofing, decking, etc. Someday I will go to either the Boston or the NW Flower show! In the meantime, I will enjoy posts from you Angie.

March 27, 2015 at 1:01 pmThank you so much for your kind words Laura! I totally know what you mean, I would rather look at gorgeous flower displays than learn about roofing as well. You would love the Boston Flower Show, so much inspiration in one place 🙂
