Project 366 Weeks 9 & 10

The 366 Photo Challenge 2016

The birds have started chirping again, the spring peepers are back, and the ground has started to thaw.  Everything seems to be awaking from hibernation.  All signs are pointing to an early spring here in New England.  I've dusted off my Hunter rain boots, and am excited to announce that yard clean up is now officially in full swing!

I'm beginning to see some crocus and tulip bulbs emerging.  Oh how I missed them!  I've also seen a few tiny bugs here and there while I'm hard at work.  It's also nice to see the local group of turkeys meandering from yard to yard again.  It's quite the large rafter, and the toms put on an elaborate show to impress the hens.  There is one female albino turkey, and she is stunning.  Hope to see some chicks in the near future.  I try not to bother them as they pass by, and my camera never seems to be within reach (Isn't that always the way?)

No sign of the groundhog that lives under my shed.  I have a feeling I'll be seeing him as soon as I plant something I don't want him eating.  Everything feels so new again when spring rolls around.  I'm ready to become immersed in sweet spring and see all the beauty that it brings!

Day 061 | 366 {around the corner}

around the corner

A sign that spring is right around the corner! I've been on vacation enjoying a couple days filled with relaxation and much needed nights filled with laughter and good food. Going away makes you miss and appreciate the mundane, everyday things so much more. Not to mention the squeal of excitement you hear when your dogs come to greet you when you return. ❤️ Back to the daily grind! As soon as I arrived home, I noticed some green popping out of the ground.🌱

Day 062 | 366 {free choice}

free choice

This weeks fresh floral arrangement. Gerbera daisies They are the fifth most popular flower in the world and one of my personal favorites!

Day 063 | 366 {leading lines}

leading lines

A combination of a reflection and lines that lead my eyes to this tree in the middle of the stream.

Day 064 | 366 {my favorite thing}

my favorite thing

My favorite thing to use in the tub is this intergalactic bath bomb. It's perfect if you are looking to be the guardian of your own personal bath Galaxy. It smells like fresh peppermint and soothes the senses with a hint of cedarwood oil. Exceptionally dreamy like rocketing through the Milky Way. 💫🌌🛁

Day 065 | 366 {a routine}

a routine

Burt performing his daily routine of being the farm alarm clock. This is his duty, and he takes it very seriously! He puts on quite a loud performance.

Day 066 | 366 {rule of thirds}

rule of thirds

Say hello to this chirping little cutie pie! This fuzzy little friend is such a happy surprise! 🐥

Day 067 | 366 {circle}

circle

My good friend Tracy from Plants Map informed me that March is national gerbera month! This gives me the perfect excuse to post pictures of these beauties all month long! Thanks Tracy☺️

Day 068 | 366 {my perspective}

Red Tulips

I spy with my little eye bantam eggs! You may have noticed the recent influx in chicken pictures. With the warmer weather rolling in comes more eggs, some new babies and lots of activity in the barn and on the farm. 🐣🐥

Day 069 | 366 {the weather today}

the weather today

Blue skies and highs around 80°F with a smell of spring in the air. Bulbs peaking out of the ground and buds forming on the bushes. Perfect day to be outside ☀️

Day 070 | 366 {writing}

writing

A seamless writing style, gorgeous photography and a multitude of talented women fill the pages of this magazine. It gives me wonderful ideas of my own and makes me instantly want to pick up my camera. Now that is truly a good read.

Day 071 | 366 {starts with b}

starts with b

First {b}looming crocus spotted in the garden today. I'm overjoyed that these flowers come back year after year. I feel like they are a beautiful floral announcement that spring has finally sprung! 💜

Day 072 | 366 {fragile}

fragile

Did some spring cleanup today in the yard. When tulips pop up and begin to awaken, the small young buds can be fragile. I made sure to take extra care while cleaning around these soon to be flowers. 🌷

Day 073 | 366 {9:00 am}

9 am

Mr. Murphy Brown on the farm. A quiet moment with this constant ball of energy.

Day 074 | 366 {how i relax}

how i relax

Taking a walk, breathing in the fresh air and enjoying all that nature has to offer is how I relax. No product on the market can de-stress me as much as the sky, the trees & the sunset can. When you look around at how vast the world is, even in your own backyard, it puts things into perspective. It makes even the biggest problems seem pretty small.

Day 075 | 366 {a black + white edit}

a black + white edit

Happy Tulip Tuesday! The black & white really accentuates how the petals look as if they are made of woven silk! Soon, these will be blooming in the garden!

    Your calendar is really filling up with lovely things this month, Angie! My purple lantana bloomed all winter {we didn’t have one this year} but the pink and red lantana is now coming up nicely, as are my coneflowers, my blue sage, and the butterfly weed. In fact, I already have a bloom on my sage, much to the bee’s delight! I’ve got several varieties of milkweed seedlings nearly ready to plant and some other nectar flowers for my butterfly garden. It’s my first time planting from seed, so I’m a little nervous, we’ll see how it goes. Have a great week – enJOY the weather!

      Nature is finally waking up from the very long nap known as winter. Thank goodness! That sounds beautiful June. I can’t wait to see the bees come back and visit my garden again! I’m hoping to plant more milkweed as well. That seems to be a big hit in the garden! I bet you will do great planting from seed. Can’t wait to see it once it blooms 😀
