The birds have started chirping again, the spring peepers are back, and the ground has started to thaw. Everything seems to be awaking from hibernation. All signs are pointing to an early spring here in New England. I've dusted off my Hunter rain boots, and am excited to announce that yard clean up is now officially in full swing!
I'm beginning to see some crocus and tulip bulbs emerging. Oh how I missed them! I've also seen a few tiny bugs here and there while I'm hard at work. It's also nice to see the local group of turkeys meandering from yard to yard again. It's quite the large rafter, and the toms put on an elaborate show to impress the hens. There is one female albino turkey, and she is stunning. Hope to see some chicks in the near future. I try not to bother them as they pass by, and my camera never seems to be within reach (Isn't that always the way?)
No sign of the groundhog that lives under my shed. I have a feeling I'll be seeing him as soon as I plant something I don't want him eating. Everything feels so new again when spring rolls around. I'm ready to become immersed in sweet spring and see all the beauty that it brings!

March 19, 2016 at 7:43 amI am also looking forward to Spring. It feels like it’s been winter for far too long. Spring in America sounds so much more interesting than here in the UK. we don’t get wandering turkeys or groundhog.

March 18, 2016 at 11:43 pmI adore Spring! It has always been my most favorite season! The return of the sun and the warmth that it brings, The flowers blooming, the baby animals being born, the grass and tree regaining their green color! I just love it all ~ even though it makes me sneeze! 🙂

March 17, 2016 at 11:10 pmFlowers are one of my big loves:) They stir up my imagination and inspire me to give them my own rendition Several years ago I painted twelve 24 x 24 inch flower series. Love your captures here -I can almost smell their fragrance!

March 17, 2016 at 6:07 pmI don’t have a garden so I can’t see flowers blooming but I did notice that one of my cactus has started to grow. Which is a great achievement for me, as I’m not good with plants, they all die on me. But this was my office cactus which I brought home, as there was no natural light there. Now it stands on my nightstand and it’s growing! 🙂

March 25, 2016 at 1:29 amOh that’s awesome Joanna! I haven’t had much luck with cactus plants in the past (due to cold temps indoors) but I’m getting better at growing them now! Just have to keep them warm. Glad it is happy and healthy! Looks like you have more of a green thumb than you thought you did 😉
