Project 366 Weeks 21 & 22

The 366 Photo Challenge 2016

I can't believe we are well into June!  I feel like it was just yesterday I was daydreaming about being in the garden.  This month has been full of harvests and blooms.  I feel like a gardener's work is never done.  Along with the beauty, comes the weeding and pest control.  I try to designate just as much time to enjoy it.  It's easy to get caught up in all the things you need to fix and get done.  In the vegetable garden, my peas are continuing to produce.  The berry bushes are starting to catch up with lots of blooms and tiny fruit.  Although it seems to be over in the blink of an eye, peony season is my favorite!  This year, I enjoyed an abundance of white and light pink blossoms.  I keep telling myself I need to purchase some plant support for them, and I'm finally going to follow through with that.  They do so great until the wind and rain gets to them.  It is definitely on my to-do list.  It's nice to enjoy some nice summer reading and fresh garden salad outdoors again.  Check out my most recent project 366 photos below!

Day 166 | 366 {hello}

Project 366 Weeks 21 & 22 | angiethefreckledrose.com

Say hello to my garden visitor who has moved in! I get to see her & her mate flying around while I'm busy in the garden. They like to rest on top of my tomato cages, shepherds hook and garden fence. This birdhouse is in close proximity to the bird feeder as well as the birdbath. I see them making frequent visits. I leave a few seeds on the ledge everyday 🙂 She recently had babies and I get to enjoy the sounds of their tiny peeps!

Day 167 | 366 {free choice}

Project 366 Weeks 21 & 22 | angiethefreckledrose.com

I love peony season! My white peonies seem to bloom first, followed by the light pinks. Then lastly, the hot pink variety that was planted before we moved in! It's behind the rhododendron bush, so it's almost like a secret stash of gorgeous blooms! 😄🌸

Day 168 | 366 {i found this}

Project 366 Weeks 21 & 22 | angiethefreckledrose.com

Meet the young Carolina wrens living in the birdhouse! Mama had 7 babies! They are all huddled up in the nest staying nice and toasty. Mom & dad alternate bringing them delicious snacks that include worms, ants and moths! I've really been enjoying the company as I garden nearby. 🌱

My 366 So Far

May Calender

I'm amazed at how quickly the Carolina wren chicks are growing!  It's been less than a week since they hatched, and I'm already seeing little eyes begin to open and hearing louder peeps come from the birdhouse when a food delivery is made.  I have high hopes for my tomatoes and peppers in the veggie garden.  I'm also excited to see the roses beginning to bloom.  The summer bulbs have all been planted, so fingers crossed they all put on a spectacular show later this season!  How is your June going so far?  Have any exciting vacations or weekend getaways coming up soon?  Tell me all about it in the comment section below or tweet me @thefreckledrose.  Don't forget to follow me over on Instagram to see my day to day happenings here.  Hope you all are having a wonderful summer!

    Lovely Photo and website. I consider myself to be a wanna be gardener (currently homeless due to recent and extensive travels) I lend my gardening services to family and friends. I can’t wait to have my own garden again as I would love to have these petunias to look at day after day. Thanks for sharing. Cora at Sip, Sample & Stroll.

    Love those fresh peas. We lived in the country when our children were young and had a huge garden. They all have gardens now so we just stick to tomatoes flowers now. Your photos are very good and so detailed. I enjoyed my visit.

    Looks like you’ve had a lovely June so far! As a dog lover, I’m incredibly happy to see so many dog pictures. I also loved the inside of the pea pod, that was incredibly well done with great details!
