Project 366 Weeks 23 & 24

The 366 Photo Challenge 2016

This month seemed to go by so fast!  June is always full of outdoor activities and relaxing getaways.  I try my best to balance everything while making sure I get important things done.  I squeeze in a few days spent laying in the hammock with my head in the clouds.  My gardens are buzzing with new life and activity.  I'm excited to see my calla lilies and roses beginning to bloom.  The young Carolina wrens living in my birdhouse grew up quickly and all successfully left the nest.  I'm so happy I was able to enjoy watching their first few days of life from my garden!  I've had both giant garlic and pea harvests this June.  It's nice to throw some fresh ingredients into lunch and dinner again.  Come see what I've been up too this summer!

Happy Father's Day to the best daddy goose I know! I can't believe Phoebe & Finn are 2 already. How fast time flies!

Spending time in the garden is the perfect Monday afternoon activity. Free therapy that helps you to clear your head and just really zen out. Love watching the honey bees stop to enjoy these blooms!

Day 172 | 366 {from above}

Delicious summer garden stir-fry! Seriously enjoying garden to table dishes again. I added freshly picked snow peas and garlic scapes. The perfect snack ☺️ What kind of dishes have you been making with your harvests? I'd love to know! If you are interested in my recipe for this, click the link below to check it out!

Day 173 | 366 {peace}

Meet the newest addition to the farm, Gobbles! He may look tough, but he can be quickly quelled with cuddles! 🦃

Day 175 | 366 {chaos}

This furry little friend creates a large amount of chaos in my strawberry patch every year. Even with all that, I can't help but enjoy watching him nap and sun on my pug statue!

Day 176 | 366 {an errand}

Time to check on my purple top white globe turnips to see how they're doing! Looking good so far 😎

Day 177 | 366 {something I’m proud of}

Project 366 Weeks 23 & 24 | angiethefreckledrose.com

I started growing my peas from seed last winter under my hoop house not knowing how they would do. They started growing very slowly because of the cold, but they grew! Once spring hit, they took off & I ended up getting my biggest crop harvest yet! I'm proud that I took a chance and gave winter gardening a try!

Come see what's been growing in my garden this June here

Day 178 | 366 {my addiction}

Project 366 Weeks 23 & 24 | angiethefreckledrose.com

Hi my name is Angie & I have an addiction to plants. Can I ever have too many seeds? Nope. Too many different varieties of flowers? Absolutely not! Is there always room to grow more? Definitely! The more the merrier!

Day ‪179 | 366 {alive}

My feathered babies really come alive in the water. It turns them into little balls of energy! They love to play, forage and bathe! Such happy waterfowl!

Day 180 | 366 {pink}

‪Love these soft pink delicate blooms. If I stop and look very closely, I can see wisps of cobwebs gleaming in the sunlight.

This duo makes a pretty pair of hummingbird earrings. Hummingbirds symbolize the sweetness of life. Fascinating little creatures!

My 366 So Far

June Calendar

Are you starting to get some good harvests from your garden?  My cherry tomato plants are full of tiny green fruit and my pepper plants are full of white blooms.  I can't wait to see them ripen!  I planted some Golden Marguerite daisies two years ago near my strawberry patch. When I purchased them, they were two little plants.  I had no idea they were such vigorous growers.  Now my patch is full of hundreds of beautiful yellow blooms!  I'm absolutely amazed at their growth rate.  It's stunning to look out the window and see them all filling my garden with cheerful, three foot tall plants! I am also enjoying my first season of hollyhock flowers.  I'm hoping they will make another appearance next year!  Some people have that experience with them, so we will see.  Feel free to update me on your summer activities in the comment section below, or tweet me @thefreckledrose.  Wishing you a happy holiday weekend and a fun filled 4th of July!

    Wonderful photos of the vibrancy of the flowers. I have a large bird phobia so not so much those ones, but great photos anyway!
