Welcome back to another edition of Tuesdays In The Garden! This week, we are excited to share with you what we are growing and harvesting in our July gardens. It's lovely to see the yard full of color again. The veggies and herbs are thriving, and I'm loving watching all the pollinators make their daily rounds. The only qualm I have would be the water restriction in our area due to the drought we are in. We could certainly use a bit more rain here in zone 6a New England. I'm hoping to start seeing the skies open up more, and I wouldn't even mind a few thunder storms. Come enjoy a visual tour of what's happening in my garden right now!

July 9, 2016 at 10:31 amWe have been working so hard last season and this as we begin our homestead, and focusing on growing food and medicine, but I definitely want to begin adding some more flowers. Especially after seeing your gorgeous flower photos!

July 9, 2016 at 9:27 amI love the pomegranate punch flowers! Right now I’m growing zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, beans, carrots, peas, midget melons, strawberries, and herbs. Also flowers and greenery. Everything I grow is in pots on top of cement in zone 6b Utah so we have VERY hot and dry summers. Plus the heat that comes off the cement makes growing things tricky! It’s been very fun to learn! You can see updates on it on my blog: www dot thejoyblog dot net! I have been writing all about my newfound passion of gardening. Isn’t it the best? I love finding other garden blogs to read. I just can’t get enough! Thanks for this post, the photos are gorgeous!

August 2, 2016 at 6:38 pmThank you Lana! That is quite the haul you are growing, I bet your garden is beautiful 🙂 Yes, dealing with intense heat and drought can wreak havoc on plants. I’m experiencing a bit of that now. Can’t wait to check out your blog!

July 6, 2016 at 1:50 pmYou are growing so many great flowers in your garden I love it! We used to have daylilies at our other home and they were so great but we don’t have enough sunny areas for them here.
I see you are growing eggplant too. I’m hoping to get an eggplant this year. Last year they didn’t do very well in the garden so my fingers are crossed for this year.
Thefreckledrose
July 8, 2016 at 8:18 pmThank you Shelly! I actually planted a few not knowing that they spread. Now I have a bunch! I always have trouble with pests damaging my eggplant leaves. Hoping for a good crop this year!
