Welcome back to Monthly Musings On The Farm! Jack Frost has paid us a visit bringing temperatures down to the negative numbers and wind chills that would make Snow Miser smile. Water bowls freeze up occasionally, and then you hear the sound of beaks trying to nibble on the ice. After the ice is broken and the water is promptly replaced, the waterfowl are happy again. Since the water comes out of the hose warm, the ducks have taken to using the bowl as a hot tub. The chickens seem a bit confused as to why a large duck is hogging the water, but the ducks seem pleased with themselves. Come take a look at some photographs from this frosty winter here on the farm!

January 2, 2017 at 6:29 pmWhat a gorgeous turkey! Sorry to hear it’s so cold there…Virginia hasn’t really had it so bad this year yet, but I’m pretty sure it’s coming!
