Gardening is such a rewarding hobby. No matter where we are or how much space we have, all of us can find joy in growing a plant or two. Mother's Day is coming up very soon. It's always lovely to receive gifts inspired by nature. A few helpful tools can also be a wonderful surprise for us outdoor enthusiasts. Here are some of my favorites below that I know will make the gardener in your life smile!
Make The Birds Feel At Home
So this is called a bird nesting ball. It's filled with different materials birds use to build a nest. Give the wild birds an advantage and make them feel at home. Many of us have a bird feeder and a bird bath, but we don't think to give them supplies to help them build a safe nest. Mine was prepared and packaged by a young man with autism. The company is called Krafts By Kevin, and they will keep those birds coming back to your yard year after year. This is a gift that can be handmade for a loved one! Make sure to hang the nesting ball five feet from the ground to discourage mammals from getting it. Hang it, and watch the birds get to work.
Cut Your Own Bouquets
You shouldn't have to sacrifice comfort when you are out in the garden cutting flowers. It is a task we are all very familiar with and perform often. These Fiskars Comfort Grip Floral Snips give you precision while reducing hand fatigue. We all know that feeling after being outside working diligently. I love how all Fiskars tools are bright orange, so you can always spot them! These are perfect for deadheading, cutting herbs and making your own garden bouquet.
Have A Happy Harvest
This hod makes harvesting truly enjoyable. I've used everything from plastic buckets to kitchen containers, but they are never the right size and don't have any drainage ability. Pike's Original Maine Garden Hod has to be in every gardeners arsenal of supplies. It is durable and designed to last. It is versatile and features beautiful craftsmanship. Originally, it was used by New England clammers! You can use it for a multitude of things. It has the capacity to hold two pecks/16 quarts. It's nice to be able to harvest and wash off your crops easily all in the same place, and has saved me so much time and money. It is made using pine ends, birch dowels, a steam-bent oak handle and a durable stainless steel mesh covered with food-grade vinyl.
Prune Roses & Trees With Ease
Let's just admit it. Pruning is not a favorite task of many. It ends up being a ton of work, especially when you don't have the right tools. Fiskars PowerGear2 Pruners give you 3X more power on every cut. It features a contoured handle with a unique rolling design. The gardener you love will be cutting through tough branches and stems in no time. These cutters also have a low-friction coating that allows the blade to glide through wood and prevents it from gumming up with sap and debris. These updated and modern pruners with a clever twist have saved my wrist from pain over and over again.
Something To Cherish
All of us gardeners have a deep love for nature. Why not have a beautiful keepsake you can wear that showcases our love for the outdoors? Orchard Jewelry by J. Mavec features beautiful designs that make a statement. Each piece is wearable art that will keep you rooted in nature wherever you go. You can find pendants, earrings, bangles and bracelets that are all meticulously crafted. This necklace shown is the Triple Why Wisdom Necklace. It features a herb that represents wisdom and purity, the sage leaf. You can find other stunning designs featuring a peace dove, a pumpkin, a rabbit, a lotus, a sunflower and even a garden pea. This is a gift that can be cherished for years to come!
