Willowsford Farm is full of life and bursting with color during the summer months. You can visit the 2,000 acres of conservation land located in Ashburn, Virginia and enjoy the farm stand. While you are there taking a look at the fresh produce, you can also walk through the pick-your-own garden. 300 acres is dedicated to vegetables and livestock farming operations. I was lucky enough to take a tour during the Washington D.C. Garden Bloggers Fling. If you are in the area, Willowsford Farm is open May to December. Until then, enjoy this photo tour with me!
"The Farm Stand is open early-May through December on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Nearly everything that we put into our CSA shares is available for sale a la carte alongside products from other local farms and artisans who operate with the same principles for environmental health that we do."
Pick-Your-Own Garden
Heading to the Farm Garden
"Each season, we welcome several hundred laying hens, mostly Red Sexlinks or Hiline Browns, to our farm, where they forage fresh pastures and fallow vegetable fields by day, and tuck into their mobile coops each night."
Touring The Greenhouses
"Freshly harvested greens, ripe tomatoes, new potatoes and certified naturally-grown flowers fill our tables."
"If you are looking for a more local option to purchasing produce, I highly recommend Willowsford CSA. You have the ability of meeting your farmer and all the other farm hands that get your weekly shares ready each week for you pick-up. In addition, they provide you with excellent newsletters letting you know what you can expect to receive each week and how to consume it. The shares are generous, which gives you the opportunity to freeze or can a few batches for winter."
Thanks for touring with me! I hope you can visit soon!

February 11, 2019 at 3:42 pmWe have a small garden like this in my town but it’s not that impressive. I’d love to come visit CSA with my family. It looks beautiful. We might have to do a tour this summer.

February 10, 2019 at 3:57 pmThis looks amazing! I think it is a lovely experience, to enjoy nature in such a way, not just a walk in the park, but to be able to pick your own veggies. I think we should all try to live more sustainably!
