Monthly Musings On The Farm-April

Welcome to this month's edition of musings on the farm.  It's feeling more like summer here in New England with every day that passes.  Now that it's warming up, the fowl are enjoying some newly purchased water sources.  We have to make sure everyone stays hydrated!  The family of Canadian geese is expanding with lots of new babies running around the field.  Eggs are being laid and grubs are being ravished.  Daily strolls on the field and afternoon naps in the sun are back in full swing.  All the animals have been loving April!  Come with me and take a look at the latest hubbub on the farm.

Enjoying the daily happenings around here as spring slowly starts to morph into summer.  What's been going on in your neck of the woods?  Have you been spending more time enjoying the outdoors?  This is the perfect time of year for morning walks with the dogs.  It's nice to stop and enjoy all the foliage blooming.  The air around here smells of lilacs and fresh mulch.  Tell me all about it in the comment section below.  You can also tweet me pictures @thefreckledrose on Twitter.  Can't wait to see you back here again next month!

I have a goose alarm clock every morning around dawn. There are three Canada Geese that are nesting in the bay behind us, and two in the bay across from us. When both sets come out at the same time they have to vocalize and see which family has territorial rights. – Margy

You have some very photogenic creatures on your farm! The lovely blue sky is fabulous and the other animals are awesome to see, too. Those eggs are quite different in size–I had no idea!

Your photography is absolutely stunning. I’m actually petrified of birds in general but these photos are lovely.
