Project 366 Weeks 17 & 18

The 366 Photo Challenge 2016

I have been spending each sunny day this month outside covered in dirt.  Planting season is in full swing.  The vegetable garden is underway with garlic and greens growing.  The strawberry patch is in full bloom.  My honeysuckle vine is just beginning to flower.  It is the perfect time to add annuals like petunias and cosmos to the flower garden.  The peony plants are beginning to grow tall.  I can't wait to watch them bloom later this month.  The farm is full of fuzzy baby chickens and an abundance of activity.  Weekends have been filled with planting containers and hanging baskets.  Come see more of what I've been up to below.

Day 122 | 366 {the horizon}

Set your sights on the vanishing point, and don't stop until you reach the horizon.

Day 123 | 366 {repetition}

It's May and the phlox are blooming! 💗

Day 124 | 366 {texture}

Love the texture of these Japanese Giant Red mustard greens! Planted this in my winter garden and never dreamed it would take off like it did! So impressed!

Day 125 | 366 {numbers}

I don't enjoy seeing these numbers early in the morning. I'm definitely guilty of dropping my alarm clock more than a few times in an attempt to get just ten more minutes of rest. 💤

Day 126 | 366 {a window}

A crystal hanging in my window because who doesn't like waking up to rainbows? 🌈

Day 127 | 366 {comfy}

Project 366 Weeks 17 & 18 | angiethefreckledrose.com

Comfy as ducks sleeping on the hill in the sun. When I can join in, this is my favorite part of the day 🌞

Day 128 | 366 {free choice}

🐘🐘 garlic can't wait to see some scapes!

Day 129 | 366 {mom}

Adding some cosmos to the garden for mom today! Happy Mother's Day to all the hard working, big-hearted mamas out there! 🌸

Day 130 | 366 {on my table}

Unpacking my new goodies! Thank you so much J Berry Nursery! Here is the Social Butterfly Hollywood Hibiscus in a gorgeous Deckorations container! Excited to watch it bloom 🌺

Day 131 | 366 {hidden}

Project 366 Weeks 17 & 18 | angiethefreckledrose.com

I found this tiny kale plant hidden in the garden today. It may not look like much, but over the winter, heavy ice and snow crushed my new kale sprouts. I was sad, and decided to focus on the surviving crops and not dwell. Well, today I noticed this baby kale plant hiding between some larger crops! Nature finds a way & I am filled with hope! Never give up even when gardening gets tough! ❤️🌿

Day 132 | 366 {love}

Miss Phoebe! I love this beautiful and loyal goose. I melt when she feels safe enough to close her eyes and cuddle up next to me. Such a sweet girl!

Day 133 | 366 {time}

Project 366 Weeks 17 & 18 | angiethefreckledrose.com

It's time to plant some bare roots and bulbs! This may not look like much, but hopefully one day this will turn into a gorgeous blooming hollyhock! Can't believe this becomes such a stunning flower. Does anyone else have to stop and look online to see which side is up? I always go into it with confidence, then I end up questioning if I planted it correctly. Always so much to learn!

Day 134 | 366 {green}

Added some vinca vines to the window box today. Absolutely love this green & white trailing vine 🍃 Does amazing even in the sweltering summer heat!

Day 135 | 366 {stripes}

Here is Proven Winners Superbells Tropical Sunrise. This unique calibrachoa variety boasts patterned orange, coral and pink blooms. Such a stunning flower that is perfect for a hanging basket or container!

Day 136 | 366 {fun}

    Gorgeous photos and I can see why you are spending so much time outside. It looks like lovely weather. I’m not a fan of the alarm clock either, especially because I’m not the one that has to get up. I manage to sleep through Mr Sparky’s alarm now that I work until midnight.
    We are at the end of Autumn which means we have some things happening in our vege patch too. I live in the tropics so Summer is pretty much a no go with growing anything much unless you keep it covered, it gets too hot and then the rains come and everything gets too wet. We attempt to grow pretty much everything over the cooler months.
